Life Skills
Our life skills program is developed to enrich the lives of our students through various lessons, activities, and real life experience. Every Wednesday afternoon, we will dive into hands-on instruction that will develop everyday skills often overlooked in the traditional school setting.
Within each program, at least one week will be allotted for a community service project where our students will learn how to be good stewards of the skills they are developing, to serve others around them. At the end of the year, students will test their acumen in all of the skills they learned throughout the year, and compete for prizes in the Warrior Games!
Outdoor Education
When God created mankind, He commanded us to subdue the earth and rule over it. As we get out of the classroom and spend time praising God for His majestic creation, our students will be introduced to various outdoor activities, survival skills and safety instruction. It is our prayer to inspire in each student a love for nature and the outdoors.
Examples of activities: Fishing, archery, foraging, navigating with a map and compass, fire safety, fire building, basic first aid, agriculture principles
Household Management
Scripture clearly communicates that we serve a God of order and purpose. Our students will be given instruction on cooking, cleaning, sewing, financial management and other everyday skills. It is our prayer to instill an understanding of what it looks like to participate in, and one day lead, a God-centered, orderly and purposeful household.
Examples of activities: Cooking, baking, sewing, budgeting/ finance, candle making, soap making, entrepreneurship training, food preservation, manners/ etiquette training, cleanliness/ hygiene
Recreation Discovery
God has blessed us all with particular talents and abilities. Both minds and character will be developed as students enjoy projects and demonstrations that encompass an array of hobbies and recreational activities. It is our prayer that each student discovers their personal talents and abilities, and learns to use their giftings for God’s glory and to serve the Kingdom.
Examples of activities: Bicycle riding/ maintenance, introduction to yard games, pottery, photography, woodworking, drama/ performing arts, gardening, leatherworking.
Chapel
Our focus on Christ cannot be overstated. We believe that all wisdom and knowledge are found in Him and only in Him. (Proverbs 1:7, Proverbs 2:6, Ecc 2:26, etc) In addition to classroom Bible instruction three times each week, we all gather together every Friday for morning Chapel. We spend time in worship and prayer, as well as listen to a prepared message from anointed men and women of God. This time together praising and learning about our Creator has quickly become many of the students’ favorite time of the week!
Special Events
Students will enjoy many community-building special events throughout the year. We encourage wearing fun attire during “school spirit” weeks and wearing Crocs for Croctober, we love bringing families together for our Thanksgiving meal, the Race for Education, and the Warriors Rodeo, and many other fun events!
